Frequently Asked Questions
How do I play?
Use the arrow keys (or on-screen buttons) to move the selector, then press Z to rotate counter-clockwise or X to rotate clockwise. Get 4 matching colors in a 2×2 square and they vanish. Clear the entire board to win. Only rotations count as moves — moving the selector around is free.
What happened to my games, history, and leaderboard scores?
During early development the database is reset periodically — sometimes without warning. If your scores are gone, that's why. Guest accounts are also deleted after 30 days without play — sign in with Steam to keep yours. This will stop happening once the game is out of early development.
What is the Daily Puzzle?
Every day at midnight UTC, a new shared board is generated from a deterministic seed. Everyone in the world plays the same board. Your best time and fewest-moves score are recorded separately — you can submit as many times as you like and only your best result counts.
What is the Hourly Puzzle?
Same idea as the Daily Puzzle but the board resets every hour. Good for a quick ranked game without waiting until tomorrow.
What's the difference between 2-Player and 4-Player?
In 4-Player each person owns one color and races to eliminate it. In 2-Player each person owns two colors — it's a slower, more strategic game because you're managing twice as many blocks. Both modes are real-time and use a private lobby code to invite a specific opponent.
How do I play multiplayer with a friend?
Click 2P or 4P in the nav, then click "Create Match". Share the 6-character code with your friend. They click the same mode, choose "Join", and enter the code. Once all players are in the lobby and click Ready, the game starts. Multiplayer needs a Steam sign-in.
Why sign in with Steam?
Guests can play every solo mode, and a finished daily or hourly run tells you where it would have ranked. But guest accounts are deleted after 30 days without play, and only Steam accounts appear on the leaderboards, have a public profile and play multiplayer. Your name and avatar come from your Steam profile.
How do I transfer my account to another device?
Open Settings and scroll to Account Transfer. Copy your Account ID, then on the new device open Settings and paste it into the Import field. Your history will follow the ID. Easier: sign in with Steam on both devices.
Does it work on mobile?
Yes. The arrow buttons and rotate buttons work on touchscreens, and the layout can be mirrored in Settings if you prefer the d-pad on the right.
Can I change how the blocks look? What about colorblind modes?
Open Settings → Blocks. Custom lets you pick the art for each of the four blocks; Pack deals them from a set — the Deuteranopia, Protanopia and Tritanopia packs use colors that stay distinguishable under each condition. A pack of more than four deals four of them at random on each board. Look sets the gap between pixels and whether the art turns with its block.
